How the IWAO is organized
Members, their dedication and commitment form the basis of the charity IWAO. The general meeting of all members is the highest organ of the organization. Amongst other things it elects the >> managing committee [Link Vorstand] and the treasurer and sets the membership fees. Only the general meeting can release the managing committee and treasurer and make changes to the >> charity rules (german version). Every member has one vote.Lots of IWAO members bring in expert knowledge in fields like water chemistry, water supply, fire protection or emergency management. Their expertise is essential for IWAO: without it professional processing, analysis, testing and distribution of drinking water in disaster regions would not be possible. >> Active members constitute the very concept of IWAO as a specialist organization. >> Sponsoring members contribute to the financial base, thereby enabling disaster operations.
The managing committee is responsible for IWAO’s day-to-day business including organizing operations or the general meeting. In case of an emergency in drinking water supply the committee forms a crisis team, which is another body of the charity. The team decides if and to what extent an operation will be organized.
There are two task forces that currently support the managing committee. The marketing team mainly looks after recruitment of members and public relations. The material list team collects devices and materials for water analysis and processing that are available for temporary use at public services or free laboratories.

IWAO supports the work fo the springboard foundation with 10.000 Chlorine Tablets. The Tablets arrived in Manila and shall be handed over to the springboard foundation staff immediately.
